CHIKITSA VINYASA “THERPEUTIC FLOW” CLASS + SATSANG TEA (12 PM)

Chikitsa Vinyasa Yoga is an organic therapeutic system synthesized from the most structurally and energetically intelligent elements found in classical Yoga, rehabilitative medicine, Thai massage, functional training, mindfulness meditation, Chiropractic, and modern movement science. This Chikitsa Vinyasa Yoga master class is a fun, explorative, creative, and all-levels practice that will feature several avant-garde variations to traditional Yoga asanas. It is intended to assist practitioners in adapting the practice to their individuals needs while empowering their natural artistic fluidity, inner and outer sense of balance, breath-oriented awareness, and mind-body-heart connection. Following a wonderful extended savasana, Dr. Eden will gather the group into a circle where we will discuss ways to integrate the practice into daily life using an “old school” method of sharing tea and having satsang.

SOOTHE YOUR INSIDES: YOGIC BREATHING PRACTICES, MINDFULNESS MEDITATION TECHNIQUES, AND INSPIRING STORIES TO HELP BALANCE YOUR INNER WORLD (3 PM)

The hidden magic of Yoga is when the practice helps us find a better sense of inner balance and equilibrium, rather than perpetuating our neuroses. It’s this process of becoming a better, kinder, more compassionate friend to ourselves that makes Yoga truly healing. In this way, pranayama (yogic breathing) and mindfulness meditation practices can be like little internal, invisible asanas that we do within ourselves beneath the surface throughout the day – and while on our Yoga mats – to feel good and soothe our insides.

In this class, we will study and discuss the neurologic framework of mindfulness meditation and look at how yogic breathing techniques influence the physiology of our respiratory systems – all with a focus on how the practices relate to a wellness-based lifestyle. We will then practice a variety of easy and applicable traditional yogic techniques (that can be done seated or lying down) designed to reduce stress and provide each person with a first-hand experience of Yoga’s deep and intimate relationship with mindful breathing, inner balance, peacefulness, and ease.
